MAINTENANCE AND SPARE PART POLICY
The Company will exercise due diligence in maintaining the vessels in a seaworthy state at all times and shall provide all necessary shore based assistance to vessel in achieving the same.
The Company shall arrange for monitoring of the vessels condition through regular condition reports from the ship and by regular inspections by Technical Superintendents
The Company shall ensure that the vessels have adequate spare parts for a safe and reliable performance. The Company shall as far as practical buy spare parts only from the original manufacturers or their agents.
Spare parts, other than those required by mandatory regulations or recommended by I.M.O., SOLAS or other recognized guidelines, shall be determined by the Technical Superintendent in charge of the vessel in close co-operation with the shipboard management
Master’s and Chief Engineer’s are responsible on board to implement these policies and maintain the vessels in compliance with all regulations. They shall immediately report any defects affecting the safety of the vessel or its crew, to the office.
Master’s and Chief Engineer’s are responsible to arrange and carry out statutory surveys and inspections, in consultation with the Technical Superintendent in charge of the vessel.
Master’s and Chief Engineer’s are responsible to identify and establish procedures for calibration of measuring and testing equipment, which is critical to the operation of the vessel.
